R.C.G. GUADALMINA WITH NUMBERED TEES INSTEAD OF COLORS!

It is well known, that tee marks have a color code, which ALWAYS has been associated with Ladies or Gentlemen.

  • MEN  PROFESSIONAL WHITE                    AMATEUR YELLOW
  • LADIES BLUE PROFESSIONALS                AMATEUR RED
  • BLACK SENIOR EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER

All that is history, nowadays it is more about enjoying the game, in a similar way as high level players do.

This means play a shot onto the green and when the ball lands, ... surprise¡¡ it  STOPS….

What would you think if we tell you to play a course 5.500 metres long instead of a course 6.100 metres ?

The answer to that question is, that ...

  • Your round will be more pleasant
  • You can reach most of the greens in regulation
  • You will have shots landing and staying on the greens, with more opportunities for Birdie putts
  • And you will be less tired in the end

And that has nothing to do with whether you are LADY or a GENTLEMAN, and nothing to do anymore with colors.

WHAT YOU THINK ?

THE ANSWER IS EASY! Let’s try, see what happens !!! We are pretty sure you will love it!

FROM FEBRUARY 17TH  IN THE REAL CLUB DE GOLF GUADALMINA ALL COMPETITIONS WILL REFFERRED TO NUMBERED TEES INSTEAD OF COLORS.

When you sign up for a tournament, either through INTERNET, or on the BOARD, you must indicate,  from the alternatives decided by the Committe en each case, from which NUMBER OF TEES YOU WANT TO PLAY, your handicap will be adjusted to your selection.

Great participation of ‘Guadalminos’ in Añoreta Golf in the 1st RFGA Circuito Benjamin

The RFGA premiered the Circuito Juvenil season in Añoreta Golf and, despite the distance between the course and Guadalmina, 23 players of the Club School were present.

The children, in addition to being accompanied by many parents, were led by our teacher David Mencia who, judging by the pictures, we confirm that he is a better instructor than a photographer (see attached images).

The day was marked by high temperatures and undoubtedly tested the physique of the participants, because we were facing a very hilly course. The children beat with good mark the challenge, as well as our dear David, available to everyone from 8 am to 8 pm.

Congratulations to all the participants and those who have managed to return with a trophy (or two):

Yaiza Morales: 2nd Hdcp & Scratch Benjamin

Julia Gelma: 1st Handicap & Scratch Alevin

Rebeca Fernandez: 1st Scratch Cadete

Pablo Hidalgo: 1st Scratch Cadete

Carlos Mendoza: 2nd Scratch Cadete

Special note for the Male "Cadete" category: 7 of the 13 participants were from Guadalmina and among them they got the 5 best results.

Powerful victory of Eduard Rousaud in the Copa Andalucía 2020 held on the South Course

Eduard Rousaud adds to his list of triumphs the Copa Andalucía thanks to a dream weekend, with rounds of 64 (-8) and 65 (-7), imposing himself with four shots of advantage over the Belgian Dumont de Chas.

We have lived four days of very high level of golf, with 33 players under par in the accumulated. The course has been in very good conditions, with firm and fast greens (around 10 according to Stimpmeter). Four days of very pleasant temperatures and without the presence of the wind, added to the good field of the tournament, have caused such good results.

Congratulations Eduard for this great victory and good luck for the rest of the season.

As for our members, special mention for Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart who, despite a discreet weekend, has managed to finish with 3 birdies in a row to reach Top 5. Good performance by Ignacio Gómez Osuna (T-36) and by Jonah Fernandes finishing in 42nd place in his first appearance in the Copa Andalucía.

And in the Ladies Andalusian Cup (played in Atalaya), the best of ours was Alejandra Sánchez de la Fuente (T21), followed by Rebeca Fernández (T39) and Anna Shultse (T41). Lucía Morales, the youngest among our members, could not pass the cut, but she lived a great experience.

Our most sincere thanks to the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation for trusting us one more year and especially to all of you, dear members, for offering the Club facilities during these days.
